Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup banana purée
  • 1/2 cup plain whole milk yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup cooked brown rice
  • A dash of cinnamon and/or ginger

Directions:

  1. Just mix all ingredients in a food processor or blender and blend as needed for a texture your baby will enjoy.
  2. If baby prefer warmer, combine ingredients in a sauce pan and stir frequently until desired temperature.

4. Banana Custard (8 Months+)

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 small ripe banana, mashed
  • 2 egg yolks, beaten
  • 8 fl oz whole milk

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees (180 deg C).
  2. Spoon the mashed banana into the bottom of a small oven-proof dish.
  3. Stir together the beaten egg yolk, vanilla essence and milk.
  4. Pour the mixture over the mashed banana.
  5. Take a baking pan with sides and sit the oven-proof dish in the middle.
  6. Pour hot water into the baking pan until it comes about halfway up the sides of your oven-proof dish.
  7. Bake for approximately 30 minutes, until the custard has set.
  8. Allow it to cool by putting it in the refrigerator. Serve chilled!

5. Banana Pancakes (8 Months+)

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana
  • pancake batter

Directions:

  1. Peel the banana skin off and cut it into circles or sticks or diagonally. Try a different shape each time to test out what your baby prefer.
  2. Fully dip the bananas into the pancake batter to coat them.
  3. Slowly fry the coated bananas in a pan until golden brown.
  4. Let it cool and serve them warm in the morning, on the go snacks, or as baby finger food.

6. Fried Bananas (8 Months+)

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • A pinch of ginger or cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Add the butter to the frying pan and let it heat up.
  2. Peel the banana and cut it into coins to facilitate better cooking.
  3. Add the bananas to the heated pan and fry until it’s crispy and tender.
